In 1992, driven by a lifelong passion for solving real‑world challenges, Earl Ralph launched Medique Medical Supply (MGBR) Inc. from his home garage in Montreal. Though he once dreamt of veterinary medicine, Earl realized he could make an even broader impact in human healthcare. With a small bank guarantee from his father, Ted Ralph, he transformed that humble garage into a dedicated infection‑control and sterilization operation—selling his very first product, an infection‑control item that remains in our catalogue today.
By 1994, Medique had outgrown the garage and moved into its current warehouse facility. This expansion enabled the team to forge lasting partnerships with category‑defining suppliers and broaden its offerings across hundreds of products—from surgical wraps, wipes, and sterilization indicators to blood‑collection tubes, hypothermia pads, bandages, catheters, and beyond.
Medique’s commitment to sustainability and innovation led to the launch of its medical instrument‑repair program in 2010, giving hospitals a practical way to extend the life of critical devices and reduce waste. In early 2021, the company added linen‑recycling services—collecting unsalvageable hospital linens and diverting them from landfill.
In 2000, Earl also established Medique USA—still wholly family‑owned—to deliver a full suite of laundry and linen‑packaging services daily to healthcare centers throughout the northeastern United States (including Vermont, New Hampshire, and New York).
Today, Medique remains a proudly Canadian, family‑owned business that “responds to change with change.” Our core mission—to deliver exceptional, sustainable solutions and enduring service—continues to guide every decision we make.

Earl Ralph’s entrepreneurial journey has always been fueled by empathy and a drive for sustainability. While his early love for animals once pointed him toward veterinary medicine, he soon discovered that human healthcare offered an even broader canvas for impact. A pioneer across hospital infection control—from sterilization technologies and infection‑prevention protocols to reprocessing single‑use instruments and championing linen recycling—Earl has spent his career reducing waste and ensuring hospitals have the reliable solutions they need.
involvement in Medique began in its distribution center, spending summers and late nights in the warehouse moving Retelast boxes and SteriMed wrap—two of our longest‑standing suppliers. After earning an Engineering degree and an MBA from world‑renowned institutions and consulting for Canada’s most successful businesses, he joined a fast‑growing Silicon Valley startup in business development before returning home. Today, as General Manager, Robert embodies Medique’s values of innovation, partnership, and long‑term growth, guiding the company into its next chapter.
